Okuma to attend METAV digital 2021
Krefeld (Germany), 9th March 2021. Okuma Europe GmbH will demonstrate that it is still possible to get interesting insights into automated production technologies under pandemic conditions from 23 to 26 March 2021 at the digital edition of METAV. The company, one of the world’s leading providers of CNC machines, will showcase innovative machine tools, such as the high-quality 5-axis machining centre GENOS M460V-5AX, at its virtual booth. Okuma will also be represented at “umati Partner Point”, a joint mechanical and plant engineering initiative.
3D insights into production technology
METAV 2021, the first trade fair for mechanical and plant engineering, will be held completely digitally. Okuma will use product images and machine information to create a trade fair atmosphere that is as close to reality as possible: “We regard METAV digital as just the right format for us to interact with customers and partners in person under coronavirus conditions,” explains Norbert Teeuwen, Managing Director of Okuma. “We will also take the opportunity to present our innovations in detail using the realistic 3D environment of the Okuma Virtual Experience.” The compact machine tool GENOS M460V-5AX will be the centrepiece. This 5-axis machining centre can be used to machine a wide variety of workpieces precisely and cost-effectively thanks to its high-performance spindle and particularly sturdy double-column machine bed. The machine is equipped with various hardware and software solutions to ensure high-precision, productive and efficient operation.
Added interaction at our partner booth
Besides its own booth, Okuma will also be present at the joint booth of the “umati” (universal machine technology interface) initiative. The combination of machine and plant manufacturers and their customers is designed to promote the spread and use of open interface standards based on OPC UA. This should facilitate the exchange of data between machines, components and plants as well as their integration in customer- and user-specific IT systems. As a development partner of this community, Okuma will make itself available to exchange ideas alongside other experts at the virtual “umati Partner Point”.
Personal appointments for METAV digital 2021 are possible during the exhibition days. More information about METAV digital 2021 is available for those who are interested at https://metav-digital.de/en.
