Invitation to Okuma’s “Open House” at the European headquarters in Krefeld
Krefeld (Germany), 17 October 2023. Based on the motto “The Future of CNC Machining”, the Okuma Europe GmbH is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Okuma Corporation as well as the 60th birthday of the CNC control OSP at this year’s “Open House” from 21–23 November 2023. With guided tours, live machining sessions and machine presentations, visitors can learn more about Okuma’s innovative solutions to meet their current and future production needs.
“Energy savings, resource efficiency and a lack of specialist workers pose ever greater challenges in tool production for our customers”, explains Norbert Teeuwen, Managing Director of Okuma Europe GmbH. “At the ‘Open House’ we will show our guests how they can effectively use the potential and innovations of our machines in the areas of automation and sustainability to meet these various challenges.” In order to focus on the ever more important subject of decarbonisation and increase production efficiency at the same time, Okuma is already providing numerous advanced, energy-saving technologies to shorten cycle times, put additional equipment into idle mode when it is not needed, and many more sustainable features.
Next-generation CNC control
The OSP-P500 makes a major contribution to these new challenges. 60 years after the market launch of Okuma’s first OSP control, the new generation OSP-P500 provides numerous revolutionary advances as well as intelligent features and functions that visitors to the “Open House” can see for themselves. These also include the integration of the “Eco Suite Plus” that enables companies to benefit from lower resource consumption and fewer CO2 emissions. Additionally, the OSP-P500 meets the most stringent security requirements with the highest standards. A comprehensive security system protects the machine control as well as the processes, programmes, and data from cyber attacks to ensure a stable production. Thanks to the new control particular ease of operation and convenient user interface, Okuma offers new possibilities in times of staff shortages. Even inexperienced users can effectively use the CNC control in no time at all and independently produce workpieces within one day.
Diverse machine portfolio and varied programme
In the large showroom at the European headquarters, Okuma is presenting numerous machines at the “Open House”, which meet a wide variety of applications and customer requirements with advanced technologies, especially in the area of “Green Technology”. Visitors can expect to see several pioneering industry innovations, including the powerful multitasking machines MULTUS U3000 and the machining centre MU-6300V for highly complex machining operations. Another fascinating highlight is the lathe GENOS L2000-e, an entry-level model for powerful machining, which is equipped with Okuma’s new automation solution “Okuma Robot Cell (ORC) Minitend”. Exciting live machining sessions provide a detailed insight into the potential of the innovative machines and the CNC control OSP-P500. Guided tours of the warehouse, engineering and showroom for small groups in English and German give the guests plenty of time for individual questions. Experts from Okuma will also be available for additional information and consultations in person.
