Okuma Europe to host “Open House 2022” with focus on automation at its headquarters in Krefeld
Krefeld (Germany), 20 September 2022. How can automation help save energy and costs? What innovations do Okuma machines offer allowing to quickly manufacture all kinds of parts with high precision while simultaneously saving resources? What contribution are Okuma technologies making towards decarbonisation in production? Okuma Europe will be providing answers to these questions from 25 to 27 October at “Open House 2022” in Krefeld. Registration is open now.
Automation will be the focal point at Okuma's European headquarters from 25 to 27 October. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour: German-language guided tours begin at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., taking guests through the warehouse, engineering centre, and showroom. The English-language guided tour will start at 1 p.m.
Practical examples of successful automation
Visitors will get an overview of various automation solutions and the advantages for their production during the “Open House”. The GENOS M460V-5AX will be illustrating flexible automation of 5-axis machines. The universal 5-axis machining centre will be exhibited with BMO Iridium 25 Frontloader Hybrid robot automation. This makes it possible to flexibly insert individual parts as well as product pallets into the machine tool and to machine them with the highest precision. Another automation highlight is the highly efficient, horizontal MB-4000H machining centre that is equipped with an extremely compact Fastems Flexible Pallet Tower FPT-500 with up to four-level storage. Visitors can discover the unique advantages of the LB3000 EX II C MY 500 ARMROID for automating lathes. The robot is fully integrated into the machine's workspace, enabling automated loading and unloading, automatic workspace cleaning and vibration suppression, taking productivity to a new level. A compact machining cell, consisting of two LB2000EX II L W 500 lathes combined with a Halter Premium 25 robot demonstrates how robot automation can be realised in the tightest of spaces. The portfolio is rounded of with the highly flexible, modular Promro Vario RD 88 robot automation on a MULTUS U4000 multi-tasking machine. It enables individual part automation as well as automatic loading and unloading of complete clamping towers.
Apart from the automated machines, there are plenty of other Okuma highlights to enjoy, such as the MULTUS U5000, MCR-S, MA-600HIII, and GP25W.
“Green” production – precise and energy efficient
Decarbonisation and saving energy for the sake of the environment is currently a particular concern for companies. Okuma already started introducing green technologies many years ago and is continuing to develop them.
At the “Open House 2022”, visitors will find out more about how energy consumption can be reduced while operating the machine by using the thermo-friendly concept or the ECO Suite Plus. They will find out how to significantly reduce machining time with Okuma, thus making significant energy savings. Apart from that, using Okuma technologies to proactively switch off systems and equipment that is not required plays its part too.
Best results thanks to Smart Factory
Okuma experts will also tell guests all about the Smart Factory. The Connect Plan can be used, for example, to monitor production in order to plan and predict machine utilisation and
availability. It also provides valuable real-time updates on the machines in use. The 3D Virtual Monitor is used to plan, simulate, and test the entire machining process on a PC before machining begins. This way, any potential problems can be identified and eliminated right from the start.
