In late August, CNC manufacturer Okuma won the Good Factory Award issued by the Japan Management Association for Dream Site 2. The facility incorporates state-of-the-art innovations developed by the company’s machining experts to achieve high mix, low volume production at productivity levels on par with those of mass production.

Okuma is growing. This August, the CNC provider has put a highly advanced manufacturing facility into operation in Taiwan. In addition, Okuma announced the construction of a fourth IIoT-based smart factory at its Japanese headquarters.

In late June, Okuma Europe welcomed international visitors to its Technical Centre East in Parndorf, Austria, to explore the large parts cutting and milling capabilities of its double column machining centres. Highlights of the dedicated workshop included live demos on an Okuma MCR-A5CII as well as an intriguing look ahead at the future of Okuma’s double column giants.

In addition to its presence at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow (21-22 July 2018, Hall 3, 3710), Okuma will host a dedicated aerospace workshop at the Okuma Aerospace Centre of Excellence in Krefeld, Germany, on 23 and 24 May.

Okuma Europe has added the MCR-A5CII to their Technical Centre East showroom. The high-speed double column machining centre enables efficient machining in 5-sided applications. Okuma welcomes customers to attend live demonstrations or to perform test cuts on the machine – from general parts machining to die and mould jobs.
